Best of 2004

Well, the year is winding down (can't believe its almost 2005!), so I thought I would compile a list of good things that happened in 2004.

:: good music this year: Arcade Fire, the Futureheads, Wilco: all put out excellent albums this past year.

:: Sundance: was my first time attending last January. My good friend Wade puts on a music showcase each year as part of the film festival, and invited us to come along. We got to see Joe Jackson, John Hiatt, Ben Harper and many more up close in a small club. We all stayed at a great house Wade had rented out and had a fantastic time.

:: Skiing: 2004 was a good season with lots of great powder days in Tahoe. Also went to Monashee Powder Cats in Revelstoke, Canada for 3 days of cat skiing with Marlene. Was a great time.

:: Friends & Family. My mother did an amazing thing this past year: she donated one of her kidneys to a close family friend who was in need of one. Amazing. My nephew Campbel is turning into a mirror image of me when i was young (according to my paretns and sister), and turns three today. Apparently he is a bundle of energy and a natural comedian. All my friends are happy and healthy, and for that I am grateful.

:: Telluride to Moab bike trip: six of us set off from Telluride in July to mountain bike via the San Juan hut system to Moab. Six amazing days of riding through beautiful terain. Great trip.

:: Films: really liked "Motorcycle Diaries" and "Sideways" as well as "Life Acquatic"
